Earlier in 2023, Wilson had ordered six 3,800 DWT dry cargo vessels with the shipyard which are on the verge of completion. The fresh orders placed will be delivered by around 2028.

Growing environmental regulations in Europe are forcing ship owners to replace their ageing fleets. It is reported that multiple European shipping lines have placed orders worth $750 million with several Indian shipyards. Wilson ASA operates a fleet of 130 vessels with DWT ranging between 1500 – 8500. Udipi Cochin Shipyard has also received orders for four 70-ton Bollard Pull Tugs, three of which will be delivered to Ocean Sparkle Ltd and one to Polestar Maritime Ltd.
