V.O.Chidambaranar Port Trust has been extending its helping hand to the needy public through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity by spending Rs.3.00 crores every year. Having come to know the plight of the public in storm hit Kanyakumari District, VOCPT has sourced 10 mobile cranes of the Port users at the request of District Authorities for rendering re-habilitation service at Nagercoil area.
The first lot of 7 cranes were dispatched at 12:00 Noon on 4th December, 2017 in the presence of the DRO, Tuticorin. Port has made arrangement for dispatching a total of 10 cranes by mobilizing the same from the Port users.
On request by the Chairman/VOCPT, the Port users readily accepted and volunteered to organize and supply 10 cranes for re-habilitation service at Nagercoil. At this juncture, the Port Trust expresses its sincere thanks to all Port users who readily accepted the request of the Port. Chairman/VOCPT stated that the VOCPT is committed to extend its helping hand of the needy public at time of emergencies. Deputy Chairman, Traffic Manager, Deputy Conservator, Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer, Mr.Karthikeya Prabhu, Joint Managing Director, Diamond Shipping Agencies and other Port users were present while flagging off the cranes from Tuticorin to Kanyakumari.
