The Hindi Week 2019 celebrated in Mormugao Port Trust from 13.09.2019 to 19.09.2019 was culminated on 24.09.2019. The Valedictory Function was held at the canteen premises of MPT Administrative Building. Shri. G.P. Rai , Dy Chairman, MPT presided over the function. Shri Santosh Kumar, IFS, Addl. Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Govt. Of Goa graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The function was attended by all HODs, officers/employees of MPT, winning students from Mormugao Taluka Secondary Schools/Higher Secondary Schools and Sanjay Special School. The programme began with a melodious invocation song presented by Master Sainath Kale, student of Sanjay Special School.
Shri. Mohan Kumar, Secretary (I/c) welcomed the gathering and appreciated the efforts put up by the Hindi Cell in organising various activities during Hindi Week and also thanked Chairman, Dy. Chairman and other Heads of Departments, employees for supporting the event and making it a grand success.
Smt. Nilam Kenkre, Hindi Officer, Mormugao Port Trust presented the brief of Competitions, activities carried out during the Hindi Week Celebrations and declared that Mormugao Port Trust has won Third Prize during the year 2018-19 at the national level awarded by Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India for achieving excellence in Implementation of Official Language.
Shri G. P. Rai, Dy. Chairman, Mormugao Port Trust, reminded the employees of our historical virtues, Culture & highlighted that even if we go to any part of the World we cannot forget our roots, which lie embedded in our mother land, mother tongue and our Rajbhasha Hindi. He also urged all employees to strive to converse and correspond in Hindi with utmost sincerity.
The Chief Guest Shri Santosh Kumar, IFS in his keynote address expressed that Hindi Language by virtue of being widely spoken language in India, has been a binding factor for uniting the people from various provinces thus promoting cultural unity of Indians at large. While applauding the initiatives, efforts and various activities undertaken by Hindi Section in propagation and promotion of Hindi Language in Mormugao Port Trust, he appealed to all employees to continue their official work in Hindi throughout the year. Prizes for the various competitions were awarded at the hands of Chief Guest, Dy. Chairman and other Heads of Departments.
Shri. Anant Chodnekar, FA & CAO (I/c) received “Rajbhasha Shield“ awarded to Finance Department for being adjudged as the Winner amongst all departments having excelled in implementation of Official Language.
The programme was compered by Smt . Nilam Kenkre, Hindi Officer /MPT. Smt. Nilima Swar, Sr. Hindi Translator declared the prizes of various Hindi Competitions. A Vote of Thanks was proposed by Smt. Roshan Komarpant, Sr. Hindi Translator. The Programme ended with recitation of “Rastra Gaan”.
