November 19, 2020: With 42 BCN wagons weighing around 2,424 tonnes, the first maize rake was loaded to Benapole in Bangladesh from Waltair division. Besides transporting the essential products in a safest and fastest manner to the neighbouring country, transportation of agricultural products by train is economically beneficial to the consignors.
Divisional Railway Manager, Waltair, Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, lauded the efforts of the officers and staff of the division in capturing the traffic to the new destinations. He said the railways is always in the forefront in rendering support and encouragement to freight customers.
After setting up the business development unit by the railways, regular interactions are held with the freight customers to communicate the policies, incentives and measures adopted by the railways for the safest and cheapest mode of transportation.
