Visakhapatnam Port has made its way to position among the top 20 ports in the World Bank’s Container Performance Index. Further, Visakhapatnam Container Terminal Private Ltd has secured 18th place in the Container Performance Index. The ranking is largely based on quay side performance of the terminal.
The container terminal has some of the best KPIs in terms of 27.5 moves per crane hour, turn around time of 21.4 hours and idle time at berth of 13%. The port is served by more than 65 mainlines and NVOCCs, 8 regular vessel services including IFX-2, FME, MDM, CHS, C-17, CCG, IEX and CVK serving to east bound, west bound and middle east destinations.
