Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) has achieved a significant milestone by handling 55 million metric tonnes (MMT) of cargo in just 249 days. This remarkable achievement surpasses previous records and positions VPA on track to achieve its annual target of 90 MMT for the 2024-25 fiscal year.

The port’s success is attributed to the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders, including the state and district administration, public sector entities, and industry partners.

VPA Chairman M. Angamuthu expressed gratitude for the support and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration to achieve greater heights. VPA is committed to aligning with the Prime Minister’s Maritime India Vision 2047 and the Chief Minister’s Swarna Andhra Pradesh 2047. The port authority is actively working on a comprehensive master plan to foster industrial development and contribute to the region’s economic growth.
