Addressing after unfurling the National Flag on the occasion of the 75th year of Republic Day celebrations at Port Stadium here, Dr. Angamuthu said VPA, in collaboration with NHAI, Railways is planning to spend close to Rs. 300 crores for various projects that are not only meant for VPA development but also useful for the Vizag citizens.
He informed me that VPA is closely working with the state government by sanctioning CSF funds for various projects.
The VPA reiterated that the VPA is committed to maintaining the key performance indicators and continuously improving them to be one of the best ports in the country.
He stated that VPA is implementing a good number of green port initiatives, including the setting of solar power plants, plantations, the provision of CNG buses, and swinging machines, to reduce carbon emissions to zero levels in Vizag City as part of Amrit Kaal Vision 2047 of the Government of India.
The chairperson informed me that it is a special day for VPA, which is the convergence of celebrating the 90th Foundation Year during the 75th Republic Day.
He informed me that VPA is intended to involve the citizens of Vizag more in the activities of VPA, duly creating the necessary infrastructure facilities.
Earlier, VPA CISF, VPA, gave the Guard of Honour to the Chief Guest, Dr. M. Angamuthu, and the Chairperson took the salute and inspected the CISF parade.
To make the celebrations more vibrant, VPA organised cultural programmes with a patriotic theme, and CISF performed various security demonstrations like gun firing and security riffing dogs.
The chairperson gave away citations and awards to the employees for their better performance, and Swatch Bharat Awards were also given as a part of Special Campaign 3 to the departments and also to the stakeholders for their record performance in their field.
